Knowing the ingredients of your food is important, however also the pesticides, and chemicals used to process it, or used to keep them fresh are also something to consider. I’m not trying to preach here to never buy any prepared food again, however if you can make things yourself, quickly and easily, why not?

Why not try to limit the additives, chemicals, and pesticides you put into your body? Ingredients

1 bag of pita bread (Organic, whole grain, sprouted, gluten free, or Grain Free)

1/2 of olive oil

1 tsp of garlic powder

1.5 tsp italian spice

1 tsp sea salt

1-2 Tbsp of sesame seeds

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 F and line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.

In a small bowl pour olive oil and spices and mix well.

For Pita bread you can basically use any kind you like. If your feeling very ambitious you could make your own using my everything dough recipe, like for the za’atar bread Delight. Alternatively you can buy the bread ready (making this super fast and easy). I usually end up making these when the pita is getting a bit hard and nobody wants to eat it. No wasting in my house!

Some other great healthy brands of pitas are Joseph’s Flax, Oat and Whole Wheat Pitas , or Against the grain Gourmet Pita (Grain Free but does have dairy). The choices are endless, just look for clean simple ingredients.

Take the pita bread and cut them into small triangles, by cutting them in half, then quarters and then eighths. Once you have all the small triangles, split them open and and cut each to get 2 pieces from each triangle. Place these triangles on a baking sheet.

Using a brush, spread olive oil over triangles to cover well.

Sprinkle with sesame seeds and bake in oven for 8-10 minutes. You will need to watch them carefully as they can burn quickly.

Once done, remove from oven and enjoy with your favorite dip. Some of my favorites are my healthier hummus, Salsa, Guacamole, or my green goodness dip.
