Pumpkin Spice Pecans

Holiday season is officially here. It’s November and everyone is in holiday mode, so let’s get out our festive creativity in the kitchen and make some goodies. These pumpkin spice pecans are a great healthy holiday treat as a snack, or an addition to every dessert or cheese platter. They are easy to make and hard to keep, as you won’t be able to stop eating them.

This recipe was created by default really. Last year I bought some pecans in the store very similar that were a limited edition from Whole Foods. I don’t know if any of you have tried these, but they were so delicious.

Well of course I bought several bags last year and used them in cakes, on ice cream and in pie crust. They added the perfect hint of holiday flavors to everything. The ingredients were not perfect (they have brown sugar in them) however they were all clean ingredients, that are real food. No chemicals or preservatives, just a little sugar and a lot of flavor.

Of course this year to my disappointment they did not come out with them. So I decided I must try and make them, how hard can it be? Well, here it is my own version of healthier pumpkin spice pecans. Super easy to make, and so so so delicious with few ingredients. Happy Cooking!!

Ingredients

1 1/2 cup raw pecans

2 Tbsp. maple syrup

1 tsp pumpkin spice (mix of cinnamon, ginger, clove and nutmeg)

1/4 tsp sea salt

1 tsp coconut oil

1 tsp maple sugar

directions

Preheat oven to 350 F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper

Using a bowl add all ingredients except for maple sugar and mix well.

Spread pecans on baking sheet evenly so they are flat and not overlapping.

Sprinkle maple sugar on top and place into oven for 10-12 min. Keep an eye on them, or use a times as they burn quickly.

Once baked, allow to cool before eating. Store in a mason jar or air tight container and use as a topping or as part of any dessert or as a great healthy snack.
