What would life be like without bread? Impossible right? Bread is so delicious in every way and although I personally try to stay away from it, and it’s not because I don’t love it. Well I think I may have solved all your bread issues with my best ever grain free vegan bread. Yes you heard me right. Its grain free, fo it is Paleo approved, it is egg and dairy free so it is vegan approved and did I say it was delicious!

There are many recipes for gluten free or grain free bread out there, and I have probably tried them all. However after a lot of practice and playing around in the kitchen, I have come up with the best ever (I swear it is) bread you ever tasted. It is easy to make, and a lot less expensive than the other grain free breads out there. Also it is low carb and vegan.

Ingredients

Some of the key ingredients that make this bread delicious and nutritious are the psyllium husk. This is a fiber that comes from a bush like plant from india called plantago ovata. This is a edible, soluble fiber and prebiotic. It is what feeds the good bacterias in the gut and keeps them alive and thriving. We all know that gut health is so important. Getting in some prebiotics is great to keep the good bacteria alive. This fiber also helps reduce cholesterol, helps manage blood sugars, and can be used as a laxative to keep you regular. It also improves heart health and blood pressure.

Aside from psyllium husk, this best ever grain free vegan bread has chia seed which are packed with omega 3. Then only a few more clean ingredients like almond and coconut and arrowroot flour. You really can’t go wrong with this one, and although it is a bit of time in the kitchen to make your own bread, it is well worth it.

The loaf comes out a bit small, so don’t be surprised. If you slice it thin you get about 12 slices and they are very dense, so a little goes a long way. Also this best ever grain free vegan bread freezes well, toasts amazing, and tastes delicious as is. So enjoy every bite of it, as it is doing a lot of good in your body and taste buds. Best Ever grain Free Vegan Bread. So delicious and nutrient dense, you won't believe it is good for you!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/3 cup warm water
  • 1 tbsp gluten free yeast
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1 cup arrowroot flour
  • 1/3 cup coconut flour
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tbsp psyllium husk
  • 1 1/2 tbsp ground chia seeds

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl add yeast, maple syrup and warm water. mix and allow to sit for 10 min to bloom. Yeast should start to bubble and grow. If it does not start again as water may have been to hot or yeast is old.
  2. In a large bowl add in all the remaining ingredients and mix well so there are no clumps.
  3. Add yeast mixture to flours and mix with your hands to form a dough. If it is too dry add a little bit a water 1 tbsp at a time.
  4. Form dough into a ball and place in bowl. Cover with a damp towel and place in a warm spot. I like to place it in the oven (turned off) to keep it warm for 1 hr.
  5. Remove bowl from oven and turn it on to 425F. Place baking sheet in oven to preheat with oven. once oven is hot remove baking sheet carefully and place dough ball on it. Score top with an X and return to oven to bake.
  6. Bake for 40 min at 425F. You will see that outer crust is brown and crisp. Also you can take internal temperature of bread when done baking to ensure it is ready. it should be 200F inside the middle.
  7. Allow bread to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

bread freezes well, however it must be sliced first before freezing
